The long wait is over. I guess Cifuentes did not get the memo that he was supposed to sub out Vincent Janssen before he was able to score that hat trick. According to Adam Susman, Janssen was aware that the Timbers had never had a regular season hat trick, but Cifuentes actually was not! It’s not the Timbers first MLS era hat trick however. Yimi Chara had one in the CCL cup in 2021. Before that it was Frédéric Piquionne in 2013 in a US Open Cup match. See them all after the jump.
